Research Objectives
Wildlife Monitoring: Energy Aware Routing
Wildlife monitoring and tracking is required to have an insight into, Animal Habitat, monitor endangered species, look into the socialization behaviour of animals, monitor spread of epidemic in species and inter-species and to learn about the circumstances under which, animal characteristics change. Current energy aware routing have modelled for sensor networks which have redundancy and remain in communication range of each other. Network scenarios where only a few nodes are spread across a vast region, sparse networks clearly shows focus on issue related to Data Storage, data packets: time to live, connectivity and routing with geographical position into consideration. The literature is not focused towards energy aspect of routing. Our work tries to merge the two requirements to build an energy aware routing protocol for monitoring wildlife.
